TEAM MANAGEMENT
Where the rest of us see chaos and confusion,
Mike Kennedy brings an aura of clarity and calm.
His refined sense of order comes from managing
editor stints at a trio of high-pressure trade
magazines, and from coordinating research, editing,
proofing and fact-checking on more than 50 book
projects for five different publishers.
A combination traffic cop and master motivator,
Mike knows who's doing what and makes sure they're
doing it well. Though used to working without
a net (just ask the folks at ESPN The Magazine),
he's at his best with the kind of support and
resources Black Book Partners
brings to bear.
YOU'VE
SEEN HIS STUFF...
...at
your local Barnes & Noble. Were not
sure who keeps track of these things, but Mike

anyone in the business. His work includes titles
on Soccer, Skateboarding, Roller Hockey, Football,
Baseball and Basketball. He has written biographies
of LeBron James, Derek Jeter, Michael Phelps,
Shaun White, and Tony Hawk. With Mark Stewart,
Mike has also co-authored Long Ball: The
Legend and Lore of the Home Run, Swish: The Quest
for
Basketball’s Perfect Shot, Touchdown: The
Power and Precision of Football’s Perfect
Play, Hammering Hank: How the Media Made Henry
Aaron, a biography of Olympian Michelle Kwan
and a bi-lingual series of books on Latino baseball.
Mike
is also well-known in the sports trade business.
He reports for the family of magazines published
by Formula 4 Media, including Team Insight
and Outdoor Insight, and serves as Editor
at LicensingOutlook.com.

TALENT
Mike
is Black Book Partners

our clients sweat, but never well enough to beat
them. Tee it up with him sometime.
TWIST
HIS ARM...
...and
he’ll admit that he plays the lead role
of Rodney Wright and sings his heart out for
