A
few years back, Ron Jaffe left the high-stress
world of bookselling for the high-stress world
of media design and consulting. Since then his
clients have included MasterCard, BBC Audiobooks
America, Earth Satellite Corporation, Viking/Penguin,
Simon
and Schuster, Grolier, more. Needless
to say, Ron works well with others. In fact,
during
his 17 years at Waldenbooks he oversaw partnerships
with the likes of Warner Bros., The Walt Disney
Company, Jim Henson Productions, DC Comics, Kodak,
Anheuser Busch/Sea World and Prevention Magazine.
From the web to books to advertising, Ron brings
what Jim Henson once called an eclectic background
to all that he does.

Ron has had a hand in hundreds of publishing
projects
in every conceivable category. At Waldenbooks
alone, he was involved in the publication of more
than 400 original titles while publisher for
Longmeadow Press. Ron also was co-publisher of
Third Story Books. And as book designer, he's
created scores of titles — including licensed
product as varied as Major League Baseball, NASCAR,
and Sea World.
MARKETING
BACKGROUND
In
a past business life,
Ron was Senior Director of Marketing at
Waldenbooks where he helped
develop and launch the company's Preferred Reader
concept, the retail industry’s first and
most successful customer loyalty program. He
understands
the marketing of books as well as anyone on this
side of the business.
SECRET
TALENT
Policy wonk.
Ron is the longest serving member of his local
Board of Education, where his mastery of the
policy manual continues to keep the school system out of the news.
TWIST
HIS ARM...
...and he’ll admit that he has a degree
in music composition, that he's sung with opera
choruses, and that he once played backup for
the Drifters.
