That ‘best player never to win a major’ tag is the worst tag you can get put on you. He can make nine bogeys in a row and he may make two eagles over the next nine holes. That never seems to slow Phil down. He's not a one-major guy. He's a 10-major guy. He deserves greatness. I hope Phil doesn't change. He plays with a lot of risk/reward. When it happens, he's great, and when it doesn't, he looks terrible. Phil is a wonderful player. He's a great player. He's had a lot of success, and there's a reason for it. You know, if it wasn't for one guy, I think Mickelson would have had two or three more by now. He is so talented, he is just as good as Tiger. You're just seeing the tip of the iceberg. He's going to get a lot better. The only thing I know about Phil is that I'm impressed with the kind of person he is. He's very genuine. Once the younger players started to come on tour, he realized that he had to start working out to maintain longevity in his career. The man who used to be the butt of Woods’s jokes is now standing on the moral high ground, a great champion and a decent man. |
