- Curtis ended his career at UIC as the school's all-time leader with 178 runs scored.
- In 2005, Curtis became the first major leaguer in 30 years to hit two triples and two homers in his first four games. The last player to do so was Milwaukee’s Pedro Garcia in 1974.
- Curtis won the New York-Penn League’s 2005 Stedler Award. He was also the Detroit Sports Broadcasters’ Association Tigers Rookie of the Year and named to the International League’s post-season All-Star squad.
