• Buster played two summers in the Cape Cod League. He was the shortstop of the Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox in 2006 and split catching duties with Jason Castro in 2007. The team won the league title both years.
• Buster’s 85 hits as an FSU freshman were the most since Matt Diaz in 1998.
• Buster shared All-ACC honors with Matt Wieters in his first year as a catcher at FSU. He was a Second Team All-American.
• Buster’s .382 average in 2007 ranked fourth in the ACC.
• Among the players earning First-Team All-America honors with Buster in 2008 were Stephen Strasburg, Ike Davis and Brett Wallace. All would see action in the majors by 2010. 
• Buster‘s first big league hit came against the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2009. He singled to right-center off Jeff Weaver.
• In 2010, Posey became the first Giants rookie to drive in six runs in a game since Rick Parker in 1990. And he became the first Giant with a six- RBI game since Barry Bonds in 2007.
• In 2010, Buster became the first San Francisco rookie to get four hits in a postseason game.
• Buster was the first Giant since John Montefusco in 1975 to be named Rookie of the Year. The first Giant to earn that honor was Willie Mays, in 1951.
• Buster was the fifth rookie catcher to start for a World Series champion. The last was Andy Etchebarren of the 1966 Baltimore Orioles.
• The last NL Rookie of the Year to play for a World Series champion was Dontrelle Willis in 2003.
• In 2011, Buster became the Giants’ youngest Opening Day catcher since Tom Haller, 50 years earlier.
• Buster caught Matt Cain’s perfect game in June of 2012. He said it was the most nerve-wracking experience of his baseball life.
• Buster was named the NL Comeback Player of the Year for 2012.
• In 2012, Buster became just the second San Francisco player to win a batting title. Barry Bonds was the first. He was also the first catcher since Ernie Lombardi in 1942 to win the NL batting championship.
• Buster won the 2012 Hank Aaron Award as the league’s top hitter.
  
• After the 2010 World Series, Buster received the ultimate honor—he was selected to be Grand Marshal of the Leesburg Christmas Parade.
• On Buster’s first trip to Atlanta with the Giants in 2010, more than 50 relatives were in the stands to watch him.
• Buster’s youngest sibling, Jess, was a talented all-around player for Leesburg High in 2010.
• Buster was a finance major in college. He made Dean’s List twice and had a 4.0 GPA one semester.
• Buster and Kristen had twins (Lee and Addison) during the summer of 2011.
