He does things on the football field that stop you in your tracks and grab your attention. Quite frankly, I had my heart set on this guy. We're very pleased that he's a Green Bay Packer. If it were up to him, he would live in the weight room. A.J. out there, Brady and myself, I think it's a good combination of linebackers and a nucleus for the defense. I don't think even those of us who grew up watching A.J. imagined he would be one of the all-time greats at his position. He is a great player, but he's not a guy who walks around bragging on himself. He's a humble guy, a selfless guy. Play after play, A.J. is a guy who is going to give you 110 percent. With a guy that talented, you want him on the field as much as possible so he can make plays. He practices as hard as he plays, and nobody plays the game harder than A.J. He's amazing. All he does is work. He loves it, loves practice, loves the weight room, loves to hit people. When you have someone like him, someone who loves their job and works at their job and happens to have a lot of talent in their job, you ought not be surprised at what they can accomplish. All of us who are middle aged like I am remember the glory years of the Packers. Wouldn't it be neat if he could help spark those again? He’s always around the ball. He just sees it and gets there and makes the play. Not flashy, but when he gets up he’s always getting off the pile. He’s an awesome player. He roams everywhere. The one thing I've never worried about with A.J. is how he plays. I have none of that performance anxiety' with him. Cold weather, no problem, he plays better in the cold weather. He's a Midwest guy. He's right where he wanted to go. A.J. is a pro’s pro and wants to do his part to help the team win, and his first priority is to be the best Packer he can. |
